Megan Anna Rapinoe grew up in Redding, California. Her birthplace was on the 5th of July 1985. She first began playing soccer from a very young age and developed her game in her teens. The magicJack placed third in the year, despite Rapinoe's two goals. The magicJack dissolved in late 2011 and the WPS was disbanded at the start of 2012. Rapinoe re-entered the United States in 2011 after playing for Sydney Football Club FC, the Australian W-League. The next time she played was with the Seattle Washington Sounders Women now known as the Sound FC. Rapinoe was in France for this season. She then joined the National Women's Soccer League NWSL (formerly the WPS) that was formed as a following the dissolution of the WPS. Rapinoe has also played internationally. She was a part of the U.S. Olympic female soccer team that played during the Olympics in London England. At those Olympics Rapinoe helped lead the team to a gold medal with several game-winning goals or assists. Rapinoe was a participant in her second Olympics which took place in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. The U.S. Team was defeated in the quarterfinals of Rio. Rapinoe's debut at the FIFA Women's World Cup took place in the year 2011. Her contribution to the tournament helped her team U.S. team win consecutive Women's World Cup championships in 2015 and 2019. In 2018 she became cocaptain of the team. Rapinoe won two bronze medals during the United States' 4-3 win over Australia at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Japan has been postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 viral epidemic.
